Eventually
I expect I'll end up with a cat
and that as they say will be that,

slippers on
lights off
an aching back
a rasping cough
and kitty
looking like a stray
that thinks itself pretty

and I'll have a cat flap
which will snap back
when the cat
decides to go out on
the town
and
me
in a dressing gown
staying home.
