The friends I had that have up and left
Never aged beyond this
Photo hanging on the wall
No, they never do grow old

The thoughts I've kept inside my head
Are the same as on the day they left
I have the photograph to prove it
Without a single wrinkle to it

Haven't heard a word from anyone
So, their voices haven't changed in tone
Still as young as they were then
If you try and picture it

Some have moved while some have died
Without a clue or reason why
As I sit here and stare
With cloudy eyes and thinning hair

At my friends who up and left
That never aged beyond this
Photo hanging on the wall
No, they never do grow old

At least that's what I’ve been told
By this worn-out aging soul...
