There is indescribable heaviness
in the air
Darkness all around like a
black velvet cape draped
to block the sun
Lightness smothered by an oppressive dour feeling
The darkness and gray
hang in the air like a winter coat
The air is stale, no freshness
The feeling of lightness is vacant
The air weighs on the back like an iron anchor
There is a feeling and clamoring for freedom and light
Searching for one small glimmer
Of anything that lifts one up
Away from the heavy darkness
If only it would come
To rescue us
