The silence of violence
piston knocks
absorbing shocks
not a whimper,word is heard
third time this week
tomorrow she'll seek
a safer place
save her face.

Her black eyes don't cry even she wonders why she put up with it for so long, how could love be so hurtful,
how could she have got it so wrong.
