The neon light is flickering and buzzing
and the moths, they keep on coming
I lay on the bed by the window so hot
thinking the air conditioning has a fault
waiting in a motel outside New York

Last night with her was a blast
and boy, can that girl talk fast
so I wait in dreamy anticipation
for her to pull up to the court
me in my motel outside New York

I hope we dance as we have
not just for now, but forever
I have falling hard for her
never to be in love again I thought
yet here I wait in a motel outside New York
