You can tell me that you like me
And I will confess just the same
I'll tell you this whole-heartedly
And still think you're playing games

You can tell me that I'm beautiful
While you run your fingers through my hair
I'll just muster a solemn nod
Still unsure if you really care

You can buy me pretty flowers
With a note full of sweet lines
I'll hold it close to my heart
And question if you're truly mine

You can show me off to everyone
Just to prove what we have is true
You can tell me "you are worth it"
But I'll still wonder if I'm right for you

You can tell me that you love me--
I'll hesitate with wary fear
Only to discover that you meant it
When you're no longer here.
Just another lame, rhyme-schemed, love poem.
