She said, do you promise to tell the truth?
And nothing but the truth.
I said I promise to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.

She asked?
Do you love me?
I told her the truth and nothing but the truth.

In my joking ways, I said some days I do and then.

She asked, what you mean by then?
I told her in a serious way.
You have got to keep the relation alive.
Or it eventually fades.

Then she got mad and level off this and that.

Making me say, you said did I promise to tell the truth?
And nothing but, except you wanted a different truth perspective.
But it's the truth and nothing but the truth.

That's just the way it is, when you ask folks to be real.

You can't get in your feelings, when things are said?

And this the truth and nothing but the truth.
