The past
The mission
Far
Civil Rights
Equality and end of discrimination
One voice and chosen Leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Jailed and beaten
Threatened
The reason to be more determined
Silence not
Fulfilling the conquest
Time after time
Before into now
The struggles continue
Dismay
Civil Rights reversed
Powers that be
The world can see
Rights walking their last mile
Discouraged while
Dr. King illustrated the have and have nots in plain sight
We are back to the plight
Our tomorrow was put in a dusty file
Forgetfulness while
Humanitarian pause
No cause
Excuses after excuses
The need to proceed
Dr. King’s creed
Our efforts indeed
Dr. King observing above
Civil Rights is what we all should be thinking of
