The enemy was the same as us,
  cannon fodder for chess players.
  We killed them as best we could
  burdened monsters crying prayers
  cursing horrible ****** landscape
  skin in hair and mouth and eyes.
  I held pieces of my brothers to
  whisper insane war torn goodbyes.
