I shot a three-legged dog, my heart in despair,
A moment of darkness, a burden to bear.
In that painful instant, I felt so low,
Regret and sorrow began to grow.

But life is complex, and actions unclear,
Sometimes we're lost, our judgment unclear.
The weight of my choices, heavy and deep,
In the still of the night, I couldn't sleep.

I seek forgiveness for the pain I've caused,
For actions that left me feeling so flawed.
In this moment of truth, I hope to find,
A way to heal the wounds, amend, and bind.

For life is precious, in every form,
And kindness and love should be our norm.
In the shadow of my mistake, I'll strive,
To make amends, and in forgiveness, thrive.
