The sane say
Time is just the wake of the arrow as it flies
in the direction of increasing entropy.
In the order of chaos, we move outward
along the spiral until we can't hold on anymore.
And then we die.

The sane say
Life on Earth is a system of self-sustaining matter.
The carbon from the ooze that learns how to learn
That opens its eyes to sing in canon and
hold on tight to one another.

The sane say
The one begets the other.
Ashes to ashes / Dust to dust
The neutron star collapses and the eye turns to watch it explode.
And so the universe creates the instrument of its own destruction.
Order-makers in the chaos made.
Watchers in the dark.

Lift resists gravity. Drag resists ******.
Passion resists apathy.
And we all resist destruction.

The sane say
Smile.
The sane say
Dance.

The sane say it all pulls it all apart so
for life's sake,
hold on tighter.

The sane say,
Live.
