They were down by the tracks
breckin' their backs
laying some line.
just so some lazy swine
could come swanning up North,
and see how the other arf lived.

me dad said it'll rust and
they'll be at it again
laying more line from
six until ten

their ghosts are still there
turning the air blue
with them old ****** jokes
told the way
the old used to do

and I can see them
the working men
that got this country
mobile.
