I wish I could show you,
To take a carpet ride,
I'd give you the glasses,
That I have only just found,

How can I get through,
All these walls you built,
The fingers stuck in your ears,
I don't want to fight you,

I see the coming catastrophe,
I want to save you,
I'm convinced that I can,
You just have to let me,

Please, go slow,
Drop your guard,
Let go of your hate,
Stop clinging to pain,

If you don't let go,
The pain will continue,
Clinging to the branding iron,
It will keep burning you,

Sometimes the pain feels good,
Sometimes it is convenient,
You use the pain to get you by,
It's your excuse, your justification,

The pain is your reason,
You don't have to do the work,
Deal with the problems or talk,
You hide,Β Β and say you're hurt,

You stew on the pain,
Relish the feelings,
Replay the scenes,
Play the broken, skipping vinyl,

Forgivness is not easy,
It is not natural or instinctive,
It hurts more sometimes,
Than the original injury,

But the longer you wait,
The more you refuse,
The more you will miss and regret,
The pain you've now inflicted,

You take the high ground,
Saying you've been hurt,
But now who is hurting,
You know how it feels,

Is love and eye for an eye,
Is payback part of love,
Why do you need a pound of flesh,
If love is how much you give,

If the waring only ends,
When both sides feel even,
The world can never stop the pain,
No one would ever stop fighting,

If you don't see though another's eyes,
You always think you're owed,
That you've been wronged,
That you're justified,

Who do you think you are?
How do you think you're seen?
What do you think you've done?
Who do you think you've hurt?

Find forgiveness for others,
The way you can find it for yourself,
Excuse and let go of others offenses,
The way your flaws are left behind.
