She was happy.
Not happy in the way that makes you smile every day
No one smiles every day.
That's what she told herself.

She was happy.
She was happy, or at least, she didn't cry herself to sleep
Not every day, anyway.

She was happy.
She wasn't full of laughter and there was no happy ever after
But she was happy. That's what she told herself.

She was happy
She wasn't completely wrecked, at least not the last time she checked
Maybe she was now, but still.

She was happy.

She was really happy.

She told herself she was happy.

She wasn't happy.
I'm happy.
