Priests are men inside their robes
Whose words can soothe or scold,
Whose hands can bless or curse,
Whose touch can heal or scold?

They speak of God and heaven,
Of sin and hell and death,
Of love and hope and charity,
Of faith and trust and breath.

But they are just men inside their robes,
With all the same frailties and flaws
That we all have.

They make mistakes,
They sin,
They hurt others,
They get angry,
They cry.

But they are also capable of great love,
Of great compassion,
Of great wisdom,
Of great courage.

So when you see a priest,
Remember that he is just a man,
With all the same frailties and flaws
That we all have.

But also remember that he is a man who has chosen
To dedicate his life to God,
To help others,
To make the world a better place.

So give him the benefit of the doubt,
And try to see the good in him,
Even when he makes mistakes.

Because at the end of the day,
He is just a man inside his robes,
Trying to do his best.
