We forget, don't we
and isn't that a part
of who we are?
can't carry all the burdens
can we?

she carried me
across a thousand streams
when I was weak

I seek her pardon
she was the matron
I behaved
like an outpatient,
impatient
wanting and
waiting,

I carry my burden too.
