Well of course it would be
Monday
attempting to wake me.

Now it's time
coffee and toast
as I
watch the ghost of yesterday
slip under the waves and fade
away.

Lowering my defence
I slip into the shower
and rinse off the last
of the weekend,
surrendering
to the coming day.
