Tombstone alley
In memory of
the way it used to be
when
employers valued you
and even valued me
They put us on the balance sheets
as disposables or
fixtures ill-fitting,
reconciling the irreconcilable
I am trying to avoid trouble
and
failing miserably
because I see
the way it used to be.
