Getting a sweat on
because
the weather dropped a thermal bomb,
well
it's Summer and we were not ready
but
we're dripping wet now and how.

I have to admit
that I do like to sit
in the shade
under the apple tree
watching the bees raid
the blooms.

But I've been told
that the heat's not for everyone
so to those who can't stand it
come sit in the shade with me.
