I’ll Be There


Every road you travel, each path you may take;

I’ll be walking nearby



When the sun is brightly shining, and God reveals His face;

I’ll be there to laugh with you



When the world is cruel and cold and dark;

I’ll be there to shine a light



When your life comes crashing down around you;

I’ll be there to keep you safe and tell you it’s alright



If pain and anger surface, and blood begins to boil;

I’ll be there to help make peace



When you are sad, and things are dragging you down;

I’ll be there on hands and knees to pull you up



When the song of life is joy and peace and love

I’ll be there to sing with you



When all creation is moved with the Spirit of the Lord;

I’ll be there to dance with you



If you should stumble, and fall upon the ground;

I’ll be there to help you up and support you



If your heart was ever broken;

I’ll be there to pick up every piece and make it whole again



If you got lost somehow, and couldn’t find your way;

I’ll be there to find you and make it back together



If one day you leave, and run away from home;

I’ll be there waiting with lights on and door open when you come back



And if you only need a friend you can lean on and count on and trust;

It would mean the world to me if you believe I’m being true
