BUT I WILL RETURN.
What are you, thoughts,
but like what can be brought
by gazing eyes that look
at smoke that comes from frankincense
to charm my eyes
and fill my heart with piety?

I inhale some of your
entwining curves that rise
to Whom they are addressed
and l can live with Him in His high lodge.

It's easy for them to lift me.
At times, they might be strong
and take me far too high
to spheres which are so sweet.
But l should keep in mind
I will return
and find myself in that old world
which is so rife with plots and nasty schemes.
