Aquatic Aspiration

              

    I heard it lapping even overlapping

   and in-between each timely rhythm,

              a sequential silence.


       A shy hesitation before the

  next surge of renewed confidence.


A collective gathering of momentum

      for another attempt to break its

             It’s previous record.


But the sunrise din dampened day,

Thalassa’s tidal ambition concedes.


   Mare Nostrum accepts that it's

      virtually a land locked lake.
