Failure to mention
Contractually bound
To a person I met,
Enjoyed having around
Even just for a moment
To show you around
Didn’t doubt
For a second
We’d welcome you in
Now I’m living the day
It all comes to an end
And within it
Each day
That I’m living it
Thinking
You couldn’t be gone
In the time
My eye’s blinking
And ever it was
So indifferently blind
Never grateful
Enough
For your presence
Was I
But another goodbye
I survive
Unperturbed
As the last words we said
Were both
Honest
And heard
