Summer Ride

I feel the wind rush by me

Alone with my thoughts at last

My helmet is another world

The road lets me ponder my past

Exhaust smells like my childhood

I can smile and no one will see

Behind my helmet I am alone

On that motorcycle I am free

Leaning into each turn I take

Breathing the same stuffy air

This is where I feel at home

Right behind this helmet I wear

The speed makes me feel powerful

No longer am I so small

Here I become super-human

And here I feel time stall.
