The threadbare beat of men walking upright down a street when the street has no ending and the slapping of many miles on your heels feels like a throwback to some medieval torture,
going on even further
and here's the rub,
we're heading back to the swamp
where we'll all set up camp
making soup made from fish.
no alphabet
not a car or a jet
just the sound of a beast
in the distance.
