You asked me to draw you
Now, I wish I did

I'd start with your eyes
Dark and inquisitive
Your brows ever ready to rise and fall in jest
To laugh or flirt or tell a long, long story

I'd draw your teeth
Split just like mine
Pearly white and quick to smile

I'd draw your hands
Calloused from long days of work
In gardens and garages
With houses, cars and guitars

You asked me to draw you
I wish that I did
Now you're gone and I have nothing to show for it
