He Wouldn't Listen
He was a brick wall. I was a rubber ball
bouncing off him. He was the stone. I was
alone sitting next to him. He didn't read
a line/didn't hear a word I
said. My words, winged as birds
flew over his head. I swear
I was fog. I'd no visibility. I hung
like mist. But he'd no agility. I was
the blood-filled cyst he drained. He cut off
the tip and let run the pain. My screams
were bottled he didn’t uncork. I was
just a model he repeatedly forked.
