I wear a hijab,
But it's called Rida
It's in two piece made from silk,Β Β cotton or pastels.
The poncho like top cover the head, chest and arms,
With a small opening in the neck front,
Underneath it is a long lenga type skirt from waist to ankle,
Both the lower sides of the top and skirt are beautifully embroidered, hand painted, laced or crocheted.
It gives me my religious identity,
Preserves my modesty.
It is feminine and attractive,
And it motivates me to adorn it
An elegant rida for a special occasion can be quite expensive.
