Good God there could be love
Centered in our combined tension
Maybe I was only startled
By the sparkle of the blue grey
Caught in the flood lights
Your voice melted nicely with
The sound of the 2am parking lot
I felt as though no time elapsed
Good God don't let me get attached
My heart is under construction
When the tide rushes in I know
That it also rushes out
Good God there could be love
But I've been known to be a fool
But I've grown used to being alone
But maybe I was only startled
But I know it also rushes out
