I walked into our classroom
As the new girl
The younger sister
I was a mess
Insecure and confused
You smiled at me
From your spot next to my sister
I smiled back as I felt
A sense of belonging wash over me

Fast forward almost a month
I'm still the new girl
We're shooting off rockets
The noise scares me
I stand behind you
You look back at me smiling
From then on you were my human shield

3 months later
We're planning out
What we want after graduation
Those plans are for the both of us
I love you
