She was crying on my shoulder
as the six gun salute went off
I had tears in my eyes
so I cried in her hair

She had lost her love
I had lost a brother
just for moments
all around was still

Then in the distant
beyond the trees
I saw him there
he was smiling

He mouthed look after her
I turned her face to see him
but at that moment
he disappeared again

She looked at me
then she said
I heard him too
then I hugged her again
