Closed Doors
~then~
We sat at the edge of tomorrow
Searching with hopeful eyes
For the future we thought we shared.
~and~
We didn't know how long it would last
Nor did we care
For all our plans were promises.
~and~
We said we'd find each other
Through festivals, friendship and love
We planned for months and years.
~but~
We found our future shattered
At the bottom of despair and distrust
Betrayal and heartache and the cold hard past hit hard.
~so~
For us there will be no tomorrow
No festivals, friendship or love
Our months and years of discovery have turned to hatred.
~now~
For us the door is closed
The future is blank
The connection runs cold.
