He stood in front of the apartment
Staring at her floor above
He wanted to see her so badly
So much was he in love
Tantalized, he fantasized
What their life would be
It was as close as he would ever get
In the land of make-believe

That was many years ago
Yes, he has moved on
But some days he still passes by that place
As early as dawn
And he remembers, and softly says to himself
“How happy were those days,
When we took the chance on our brave romance,”
Then he sighs and goes on his way

Lost love, sad love
Better than none at all
He still loves her so very much
He gave his all

He will always feel this way
One of these days he hopes to see her again
Still his one which makes him so lonely
God bless her, Amen
