The days are short
and the nights are long
Nights filled
with thoughts of you.

Craving, longing, dreaming:
the affection you
bestow upon her,
the way my heart beats —
as if it were yours,
And how
the Sun could never
compete with
The light
in your eyes.

How foolish I am,
To miss
what was never mine
To dream
of what I could never have
To hope
for something — anything.
