Cleaning Out The Closet
I cleaned out my closet,
Earlier today,
And with very little thought,
Threw most everything away.
But I found a few lost feelings,
On the top shelf, in a stack,
A pile of old photographs,
Of times I can't get back.
And tears I had already cried,
Returned to me again.
And I foolishly wished things could be,
The way they were back then.
But there is no chance of that,
I shouldn't dwell on it anymore.
You are not the same person at all,
The person I loved before.
