Paramours and Parachutes
There's a warm wind blowing in
A welcome change
From winter's crippling breath
She says she doesn't fancy theatrics
She says it's clear that I do
Yet, whispers only when we fade to black
I have exhausted all the air in the cabin
At least what's worth inhaling
I have spilled all the blood that's worth spilling
I have been afraid of heights like these
Since the days of my innocence
Always hesitant to face the lifeless abyss
Because the one thing I have learned is
Between paramours and parachutes
Only one opens when you pull the cord
