Another day over
Sitting down to share a drink
I made it through another one
Now, it's time to sit and think

Did I give my best today?
Did I turn the other cheek?
I'll try to be a better man
Than I was this time last week

Am I better than I was?
Did I do all I could do?
Did I listen to the word?
Am I the many or the few?
Did I do what I had promised?
Did I make my family proud?
Did I ask to be forgiven?
Did I take all that's allowed?

Another week's upon us now
Time to work hard and do well
The end result's a mystery
A success....too soon to tell?

At the end I'll sit and summarize
Count my blessings and my wrongs
Put the negatives aside for good
And put the blessings in my songs

Am I better than I was?
Did I do all I could do?
