God’s love came knocking at my door
And I let him in
He taught me truth
And he taught me
About be ing in  the world
He guided my life
And kept me safe
He showed me the meaning of life
And how to live
In a world of
Anger and deceit
He showed me the way
To enlightenment
And
Kept me on
The straight and narrow
He allowed me just enough space
To hang myself
And then
He brought me lovingly back
To reality and purpose
I thought
That I had found God
When, in reality
He had found me
