Pavement
You tread on me everyday
and one day you will wear me down
the relentless pace of your daily march
will eventually destroy what is left of me
Yet I am your pavement
here to support you in every way
if you fall, you will fall no further then me
I am kind to you as I hold my ground
Then as the rain falls from the heavens
I hope that you walk on me
so the imprint of your soul
can truly be seen on me
No moss will grow on me
as long as you walk on me
I wait for your loving steps
as I am your forgotten pavement
