I came with thoughts to serenade
Just along the promenade
In her dress of purple suede
With a smile that I wouldn’t trade
I picked a spot under the shade
Over rose petals, freshly laid
I gave to her a ring of jade
As she listened to the song I played
Steadily wooing her with my words
