Every time I get onto my feet
something or someone knocks me down again
it's like being a stand up fall down guy

Can't the world leave me alone
for all I want to do is write
but no, I am a stand up fall down guy

There is only so much I can take
and I am getting close to a break
a 50 year old stand up fall down guy

There are days I feel on my last legs
and boy do I get close to the edge
that's what you get for being a stand up fall down guy
