Today I was depressive, was really in bad mood Downcast and demeaned, I was feeling no good Darkness surrounded me, I hadn’t a place to hide Just then something happened, and made me laugh so wide.
Here was one disheveled man sitting on the sidewalk His palm was stretched barren, to show he was out of luck As I dropped a generous coin, in doing so paused a while I saw the guy’s twinkling eyes, his face beaming with smile.
He keeps his face always that way, a smile chiseled on it Never minds the bad weather, sitting in the rain and heat His smile worn broad on the face, he does it with wondrous ease A man with a home and a decent life, why can’t I do it please!
