Dec 2021
Time fades beyond the horizon
Like a gentle crisp breeze
Pulling the autumnal leaves into the air.

Should we stop pretending?
We’re in the house of flies.
There’s only our loss;
Nailed to the cross.

You’ve lost your wings,
And I’ve got no courage…
Who are we to begin to flourish?
The house of flies references a song called “change (in the house of flies)” by deftones. I implemented the use of the house as a term for a rapid and unexpected change.
