The path that was once so familiar
now seems so dystopian and cold
I didn’t give up
I walked on the path paved with your memories
I wanted them to be gone
Their shadows chased me
I screamed
No one heard me
I ran
I couldn’t hide
No one comforted the scared girl
She was alone and scared
An empty gust of breezy wind reminded me of your hollow promises
Your memories are like the shadows of misery
You were once my candle in a dark cave
You blew the fire
In the end, it was just me and an empty cave
