could you love me when I am empty
drained of goodness, and my iniquity prevails?

Darlin if you want  to love me you have to be brave
tired and worn out, relieved of passion
only two bags of necessities remain,

Darlin if you want to love me you have to be brave
my cart balances me, I can only push it 10 feet
until its wheels are freshly lubed with rain,

Darlin if you want to love me you have to be brave
my load is lighter now, my standing prayer,
my god make me lighter until I can float to you.
