Me: How do the students do here with Spanish?

Spanish teacher (from Mexico): They do well.
The Koreans and the Taiwanese are good. But the Japanese are the best Spanish speakers.

Me: Why?

Spanish teacher: Because you pronounce vowels the same way in Spanish and Japanese.
