To remember pain 
but to forget love 
To forget happiness 
but to remember sadness

Truth be told 
only we can decide 
On which feelings 
we want to focus on

Truth be told
within our lifetime 
We will experience 
the good and bad 

Without either 
we could take
Our life for granted

I choose optimism 
it seems the best choice
