It didn’t matter if you
Didn’t love me at all
What mattered the most
Was that I was zealously
Zoned into your desirable
Drawing power, musing
On a dreamy influential man
Whose hustle was more than
Extraordinary, more topflight
Than any king I had ever seen

And when you lit your Newport cigarette
I was profoundly perplexed
So obsessed with how you blew
Your smoke in the air
Filling the scene with your
Bewitching ambiance
Looking at me so lushly
With your extremely deep
Green eyes as I became
Stuck in drunkenness
