I think of you in the night
Where the storm highly howls
Like a terror-filled banshee
The increasingly frigid wind
Slightly seeping into the opening
Of my wide window
Enclosing my being, bringing
Deep and vivid dreams of you
That shimmer superbly
In the blackened shadows

And I start to wish you
Were here with me
Caressing me in this still space I lay
Curled up on the living room sofa
Peering out the window
At the persistent, heavy rain
Coming down, painting the town
A profound stone-gray hue
Watercolor metaphors
Meandering behind closed doors

I need your everlasting affection
Around me tonight
Slip in like a skilled thief
Fulfill my inner dreams, talk to me
With compassion, watch my reaction
As I beam and wrap my hands
Around your neck, tell you all
The things I love about you
How I want to settle down
Because I can’t see myself
Being with anyone else

It’s your world I only
Wish to be merge with
Dance in reverberatory dimensions
Where we stream with our mind’s eye
Glorying in the brilliant, undying
Memories we make as we ardently kiss
And reminisce on the endless trips
It took to get to where we are now
