Meet me by the midnight sea
Where black waves crash over me
Burn your olive trees
Scatter salt and seed
Not what you need
It's who you want to be

Oil slick down the wireline
Cash sent down a pipeline
Downtown tick tock in time
doing fine, doin just fine
My life is just fine
Ran the stop sign

Smell the burnt rubber
Hit by the brunt of lost lovers
Real shaker and mover
Ever go still die in a gutter
Inhaling exhaust shake from the fear
No outrunning the past its already here

The future isn't real only imagined
But so sure I was that in its name I sinned
Hate when people ask where have you been
I've been busy far away dying inside
I lie and say it's nothing much I've seen
I won't fail, I'll save us all, I lied
